This position is based at our Administrative Building in Louisville, CO, and reports to the Call Center Manager. It is a full-time, non-exempt role with a pay range of $19.00/hr - $22.00/hr.
Position Summary
Gastroenterology of the Rockies, a rapidly growing practice with multiple locations, seeks a Medical Patient Scheduler to join our team. The role involves professionally responding to patient calls, scheduling appointments, communicating effectively, and maintaining accurate patient records.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain knowledge of medical terminology and determine the need for translators.
- Collect and update demographic, insurance, and medical history information.
- Coordinate urgent appointments by checking doctor schedules and communicating with medical staff.
- Refer self-pay patients to billing for payment arrangements and follow-up on collections.
- Explain pre-procedure instructions, order medications, and send appointment details to patients.
- Participate in staff meetings and contribute to department improvements.
- Use the Recall process to remind patients of upcoming appointments.
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring high satisfaction and respectful communication.
- Report any patient dissatisfaction to supervisors.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management.

Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Call Center experience preferred.
- 1-2 years’ experience as a patient scheduler, GI experience preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially over the phone.
- Ability to handle pressure and resolve problems effectively.
- Basic computer skills, familiarity with Outlook and medical software (Intergy preferred).
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Office environment; ability to operate standard office equipment and walk short distances.
- Fine motor skills for typing and data entry; close visual acuity for reading and data analysis.
