Job summary

LAW OFFICES OF BOB NEHORAY in California seeks a Workers’ Compensation Hearing Representative to advocate for applicants at WCAB conferences and hearings. This in-office role requires travel to WCAB locations as needed, with compensation of $70,000–$90,000 including bonus, based on experience.

You will review medical reports, pleadings, and case files, develop hearing strategies with attorneys and case managers, and coordinate settlements within authorized parameters.

Qualifications

• At least two years of California workers’ compensation hearing representative experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of California workers’ compensation law, procedures, terminology, and WCAB practices.
• Applicant side experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to independently manage a high volume hearing calendar.
• Strong negotiation, case analysis, communication, and organizational skills.
• Dependable transportation and the ability to travel to WCAB locations.
• Experience with MerusCase preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent applicants at status conferences, priority conferences, mandatory settlement conferences, expedited hearings, lien conferences, and other WCAB proceedings.
• Review medical reports, discovery, pleadings, benefit notices, and case files before appearances.
• Develop hearing strategies in coordination with attorneys and case managers.
• Negotiate settlements, including Compromise and Release agreements and Stipulations with Request for Award, within authorized parameters.
• Identify outstanding discovery, medical treatment, benefit, and settlement issues.
• Prepare pretrial conference statements, hearing reports, settlement documents, and related correspondence.
• Communicate hearing results and required next steps promptly.
• Maintain accurate notes, deadlines, and follow up assignments in MerusCase.
• Travel to assigned WCAB locations throughout California.
