Job summary

The Law Offices of Bob Nehoray is seeking an experienced Workers’ Compensation Hearing Representative to join our applicant practice in California. This in office position requires travel to Workers’ Compensation Appeals Board locations as needed.

As part of the team you will represent applicants at status and priority conferences, review medical reports and pleadings, develop hearing strategies, and negotiate settlements within authorized parameters.

Qualifications

• Two years of California workers’ compensation hearing representative experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of California workers’ compensation law, procedures, terminology, and WCAB practices.
• Applicant side experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Represent applicants at status conferences, priority conferences, mandatory settlement conferences, expedited hearings, lien conferences, and other WCAB proceedings.
• Review medical reports, discovery, pleadings, benefit notices, and case files before appearances.
• Develop hearing strategies in coordination with attorneys and case managers.
• Negotiate settlements, including Compromise and Release agreements and Stipulations with Request for Award, within authorized parameters.
• Identify outstanding discovery, medical treatment, benefit, and settlement issues.
• Prepare pretrial conference statements, hearing reports, settlement documents, and related correspondence.
• Communicate hearing results and required next steps promptly.
• Maintain accurate notes, deadlines, and follow up assignments in MerusCase.
• Travel to assigned WCAB locations throughout California.
