Job summary

KCRA 3 in Sacramento is launching a new content venture led by a Host and Reporter. You will appear on camera daily, craft scripts, and tell impactful stories that engage viewers across TV, digital, streaming and social media.

You will write and edit with audience interaction in mind and report to the Assistant News Director. You will pitch ideas, conduct engaging interviews, and collaborate with a team of managers, producers, reporters, photographers and editors.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional on-camera hosting or reporting experience.
• Strong storytelling, writing and script-editing skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be willing to travel as needed for story assignments.
• Can work varied shifts as needed.
• Deep understanding of current digital trends, social media algorithms and audience engagement techniques.

Responsibilities

• Deliver scripted and adlib material with personality, purpose and pizzazz.
• Uncover and pitch unique ideas for stories that will capture attention on all platforms.
• Experiment with creative formats for short-form video, long-form storytelling, live streaming and interactive content.
• Conduct engaging interviews with high-profile guests that can be featured as short-form or long-form conversations on multiple platforms.
• Enthusiastically collaborate with managers, producers, reporters, photographers and editors.
• Exhibit unwavering integrity and ethical standards.
