Job summary

Talnt’s Employment Law practice in Northern California seeks an Employment Law Associate with 3–5 years of litigation experience to join a busy team in San Francisco, Menlo Park, or Sacramento.

The role focuses on pre-litigation disputes, single-plaintiff cases, wage and hour matters including PAGA, with client interaction, case management, depositions, motions, court appearances and mediations. CA Bar membership is required.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of litigation experience with a peer law firm.
• Membership in the California State Bar is required.
• Exceptional academic credentials.
• Strong legal research, analysis, and writing skills.
• Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills for direct client work.
• Ability to manage deadlines and deliver accurate work product.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Handle pre-litigation disputes and advise on claims and risk.
• Represent clients in single-plaintiff and wage/hour matters, including PAGA.
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
• Take and defend depositions, prepare witnesses for testimony.
• Appear at hearings, argue motions, and participate in mediations.
• Respond to administrative charges and prepare supporting submissions.
• Manage case deadlines and discovery with partners and other attorneys.
• Counsel corporate clients on employment issues with practical guidance.
• Conduct legal research to support litigation strategy.
• Collaborate with colleagues while independently managing assignments.
