Job summary

Transcat is seeking a Calibration Technician I in the United States (NJ Rahway) to learn calibration fundamentals and progress toward higher-level roles. This entry-level position requires education in electronics/calibration or at least one year of calibration experience.

You will work in the lab or on-site at customers, travel 25-50% and develop skills across disciplines such as electrical, dimensional, torque, and temperature.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of assigned training materials through on-the-job training, online content, LMS, and classroom led instruction.
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Self-motivated learner with the ability to learn new skills related to calibration and calibration processes.
• Ability to take direction and learn from feedback.
• Ability to communicate well with supervisor, solve problems effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team.
• 3+ years driving experience with a valid driver’s license and acceptable driver history.

Responsibilities

• Work with other technicians within the lab to learn calibration fundamentals, which can include measurement, temperature, electronics, etc.
• Identify and utilize appropriate measurement techniques.
• Maintain calibration standards.
• Working knowledge and competency in at least three 3 disciplines (dimensional, electrical, torque, temperature, pressure, etc.).
• Perform calibration work within a laboratory setting and/or while supervised at a customer on-site.
• Fulfill duties safely under working conditions, in keeping with Company requirements and standards.
• Other duties as assigned.
• Travel requirement: 25-50% of work schedule.
