Job summary

Blue Canyon Technologies, RTX's small satellite manufacturer, seeks a Calibration Technician II to lead calibration activities and improve processes at our Lafayette, CO site. You will work with Quality Engineering, Production Planning, Procurement, Manufacturing, and Test teams to drive precision and reliability in every tool and procedure.

The role requires 2+ years in aerospace/defense or precision manufacturing, plus calibration program experience.

Qualifications

• A.A.S./A.S. in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of relevant aerospace/defense/manufacturing experience.
• Experience with calibration programs; ISO17025/AS9100 knowledge preferred.
• Experience using MS Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Find ways to continuously improve the processes in their area.
• Assist in establishing, implementing, maintaining and improving department process documentation.
• Drive Lean Manufacturing principles throughout the organization as it pertains to quality assurance methodology.
• Foster a collaborative and interactive team environment that supports a learning and teaching culture.
• Follow established job safety practices, policies and procedures as specified in plant and corporate directives for the safe performance of daily activities.
• Assist with the calibration program. Ensure tools are included, sent out, and returned on frequency; collect data and maintain quality records.
• Interface with calibration suppliers to manage tool dispatch, return, and repair.
• Start NCRs and guide risk/actions when out-of-tolerance tools are received.
• Operate x-ray equipment.
• Be involved in audits of the calibration system.
• Inspect mechanical and electrical components as needed.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
