Job summary

Actalent in Everett, WA is seeking an Electronics Technician on the day shift to calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instruments in a service and metrology lab. You will work to the component level, document results, and ensure measurement accuracy and reliability.

The role requires an associate degree in electronics or physics, hands-on lab experience, and proficiency with test equipment. It is a first-shift, onsite contract role with pay at $30 per hour and comprehensive benefits.

Job Title: Electronics Technician (Day Shift)

Job Description

This role offers an opportunity for a highly skilled electronics technician with a strong technical background to join a dedicated service and metrology team. You will calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair instruments and systems returned for service, working to the component level in a lab environment. The position focuses on ensuring accurate measurements, reliable equipment performance, and high levels of customer satisfaction through precise technical work and thorough documentation.

Responsibilities
  • Perform calibrations using various primary standards and measurement and test equipment (M&TE) in accordance with prescribed work instructions.
  • Prepare all required documentation for calibrations, repairs, and maintenance, and maintain accurate and organized records.
  • Analyze calibration data, identify trends, and communicate findings to the appropriate team members or departments to help ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Escalate unusual or complex product issues to the appropriate department for further investigation and resolution.
  • Maintain all standards and M&TE in proper working order, including care, storage, and periodic verification as required.
  • Work in a lab setting to analyze, troubleshoot, and repair measurement equipment or components that customers return to the service center.
  • Resolve technical problems by troubleshooting to the component level and implementing effective repair solutions.
  • Perform maintenance services on instruments and systems to ensure reliability, accuracy, and compliance with applicable standards.
  • Follow established procedures, quality standards, and safety guidelines while working with electronic, electrical, mechanical, and lab equipment.
  • Collaborate with team members, share technical insights, and contribute to a positive, learning-focused work environment.
Essential Skills
  • Associate degree in Science with a focus in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent work experience, or a Bachelor of Science in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or another technical discipline.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience gained through education or practical work, particularly with electronic and electrical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot to the component level on instruments, systems, and measurement equipment.
  • Understanding of basic metrology concepts, preferably within an ISO-oriented environment.
  • Proficiency with test equipment, electronic measurement tools, and lab equipment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to document work and convey technical information clearly.
  • Ability to routinely lift up to 50 lbs in a lab and service environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a careful, methodical approach to calibration and repair tasks.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team setting with a positive attitude.
  • Strong work ethic and a demonstrated willingness to learn and succeed.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic test equipment in a service or lab environment.
  • At least 6 months of experience using automated test systems.
  • Soldering experience for component-level repair and rework.
  • Familiarity with ISO-based quality or metrology standards.
  • Experience working in service support, metrology, or similar technical support functions.
  • Comfort working with both electrical and mechanical aspects of lab and test equipment.
Work Environment

This position is based in a laboratory environment focused on service and metrology activities. You will work with primary standards, measurement and test equipment (M&TE), electronic test equipment, lab instruments, and related tools to perform calibrations, troubleshooting, and repairs. The role follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with training conducted on the same schedule. The work involves handling and lifting equipment up to 50 lbs, working at benches and lab stations, and following established safety and quality procedures. The environment emphasizes precision, teamwork, continuous learning, and adherence to documented processes and ISO-oriented practices.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
