Job summary

Treske Precision Machining, Inc. seeks a Calibration Technician to join our team in Oregon. You will administer, maintain, and calibrate inspection equipment and coordinate with outside calibration vendors to ensure gauges are calibrated accurately and on schedule.

The role requires attention to detail, ability to interpret blueprints, and effective communication with Production, Quality, and engineering staff. A detailed calibration database helps us track locations and status for all tools.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of calibration experience in precision machining.
• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• ASQ CCT certification preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and engineering specifications.
• Experience with calibration databases and external labs.
• Strong documentation and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Review calibration schedules and recall gauges for calibration.
• Perform internal calibrations per standards and procedures.
• Coordinate calibration with outside laboratories.

Treske Precision Machining, Inc. is a growing commercial, aerospace, and defense precision machining company seeking a Calibration Technician to join our team.

Shift: Days

Employment Type: Full-Time

Purpose of the Position

The Calibration Technician works closely with Production and the Quality Group to administer, maintain, and calibrate inspection equipment.

This position coordinates with outside calibration vendors to ensure gauges and inspection equipment are calibrated accurately, on schedule, and within established cost requirements. The Calibration Technician is also responsible for ensuring tools are removed from the production floor when calibration is required and for accurately maintaining the inventory and status of calibrated equipment within the Calibration Database.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to perform internal calibration activities, coordinate effectively with outside calibration laboratories, and maintain productive working relationships with Production, Quality, and other company personnel.

Work is performed with minimal supervision and in accordance with established procedures, specifications, and calibration standards.

Major Duties And Responsibilities

• Reviews calibration schedules and recalls inspection gauges and equipment as needed for calibration.
• Performs internal calibrations in accordance with specified calibration standards and procedures, as required.
• Coordinates the calibration of inspection gauges and equipment with outside calibration laboratories.
• Maintains the Calibration Database and ensures all equipment information is accurate and up to date, including gauge and equipment locations.
• Updates the Calibration Database when new gauges or equipment are purchased, added, removed, or retired from the system.
• Maintains accurate and current calibration records and documentation.
• Determines the appropriate measuring gauge or inspection equipment required for specific features and inspection requirements.
• Coordinates with Production to ensure required gauges and inspection equipment are available, properly calibrated, and ready when needed.
• Identifies opportunities for improvement and promotes team awareness of Quality policies and procedures in support of company goals.
• Maintains a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and engineering specifications to obtain product and inspection requirements.
• Proficient use of mechanical inspection tools, including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, indicators, bore gauges, and related measuring equipment.
• Knowledge of inspection and measurement control methods, techniques, and documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to rely on experience and sound judgment to plan and accomplish assigned goals.
• Strong mechanical, analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and interact effectively with engineers, production machinists, and Quality personnel.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of databases and accurate data entry.
• Ability to work independently while effectively coordinating with Production, Quality, and outside calibration laboratories.
• ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) certification

Education And Experience

• Two to five years of industry experience and knowledge in the calibration of inspection equipment within a precision machining or manufacturing environment.
• High school diploma or General Education Development (GED) certificate, or 2–5 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Conditions / Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in both office and factory/manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to typical manufacturing conditions, including noise, dust, and machinery.
• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, walk, and move throughout the facility.
• Must be able to lift and move light to moderately heavy objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to safely perform the physical and technical duties associated with the position.
