Job summary

Interface, Inc. in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a calibration technician to support production and quality goals in a precision machine shop.

The role involves operating calibration equipment, assembling bases to load cells, and ensuring accuracy across test data, with teamwork and adherence to procedures. Training is provided; English reading/writing is required.

Schedule: 1st Shift 5AM - 1:30PM. This full-time position supports the company\'s measurement solutions and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required, calibration training provided.
  • Some mechanical or technical skills required.
  • Ability to read and communicate in English.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate using hydraulic or dead weight equipment.
  • Assemble bases to load cells and install in test equipment.
  • Review travelers for proper calibration testing.
  • Print unit labels and calibration certificates.
  • Follow and complete various assembly operations.
  • Set and use torque wrenches and operate computers.
  • Work collaboratively in a team to meet production goals.
  • Handle paperwork and move work to the next production stage.
  • Offer suggestions for improvements.
  • Release test data to the computer database.

Job description

Performs a variety of activities involved in the comparison of measurement devices of unknown accuracy to a measurement device of known accuracy to detect, correlate, and report any variations in the accuracy of the device being compared. Maintains a high degree of quality, meets quantity targets while following standards and procedures. Must work individually and as part of a team as required to achieve production, quality, and quantity goals. Performing repetitive work is essential.

Schedule/Hours: 1st Shift 5AM - 1:30PM
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform the operation of calibration using hydraulic or dead weight equipment.
  • Assemble bases to load cells and install in test equipment.
  • Review travelers for proper calibration testing.
  • Print out of unit labels and certificates of calibration.
  • Must be able to follow and complete various assembly operations.
  • Should be able to set and use various torque wrenches.
  • Should be able to work with computers.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to complete discrete tasks
  • Able to use fine motor skills to calibrate product
  • Able to work with precision and follow standardized, existing procedures
  • Able to work with a wide variety of hand and power tools
  • Completes paperwork and moves work onto the next stage of production in a completed, accurate state
  • Offers suggestions and improvements as they see them
  • Releases all test data to the computer database
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
  • High school or GED equivalent
  • Calibration is not required, training available if needed
  • Some mechanical/technical skills needed
  • Reading and verbal English communication skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position will be in a production shop with heavy machinery.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must be able to lift and/or move items between 35-70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
