Job summary

Interface, Inc. is seeking a full-time Calibration Technician for our Scottsdale, AZ facility. The role involves comparing measurement devices to a known standard, ensuring accuracy, and reporting variations. You will work in a production shop with heavy machinery and a team to meet production quality targets.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, basic mechanical skills, and the ability to read and communicate in English. Training is available; shift is 2:00 PM–12:30 AM.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent required.
  • Calibration training available if needed; prior calibration experience not required.
  • Some mechanical/technical skills are required.
  • Reading and verbal English communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Operate calibration using hydraulic or dead weight equipment.
  • Assemble bases to load cells and install in test equipment.
  • Review travelers for proper calibration testing.
  • Print unit labels and certificates of calibration.
  • Follow and complete various assembly operations.
  • Use torque wrenches accurately and safely.
  • Work with computers and data entry.
  • Collaborate in a team environment to complete tasks.
  • Maintain precision and follow existing procedures.
  • Handle a variety of hand and power tools.
  • Complete paperwork and move work to next production stage.
  • Suggest improvements when you see them.
  • Release test data to the computer database.

Salary Range: $23.00 To $25.00 Hourly

Summary/Objective

Performs a variety of activities involved in the comparison of measurement devices of unknown accuracy to a measurement device of known accuracy to detect, correlate, and report any variations in the accuracy of the device being compared. Maintains a high degree of quality, meets quantity targets while following standards and procedures. Must work individually and as part of a team as required to achieve production, quality, and quantity goals. Performing repetitive work is essential.

Schedule/Hours: 2nd Shift 2PM-12:30AM
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Perform the operation of calibration using hydraulic or dead weight equipment.
  • Assemble bases to load cells and install in test equipment.
  • Review travelers for proper calibration testing.
  • Print out of unit labels and certificates of calibration.
  • Must be able to follow and complete various assembly operations.
  • Should be able to set and use various torque wrenches.
  • Should be able to work with computers.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment to complete discrete tasks
  • Able to use fine motor skills to calibrate product
  • Able to work with precision and follow standardized, existing procedures
  • Able to work with a wide variety of hand and power tools
  • Completes paperwork and moves work onto the next stage of production in a completed, accurate state
  • Offers suggestions and improvements as they see them
  • Releases all test data to the computer database
REQUIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High school or GED equivalent
  • Calibration is not required, training available if needed
  • Some mechanical/technical skills needed
  • Reading and verbal English communication skills
WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position will be in a production shop with heavy machinery.
