Job summary

Stryten Energy's Salina, Kansas plant is seeking a calibration-focused professional to identify and calibrate gauges and instruments, maintain calibration records, and support quality standards.

The role emphasizes adherence to calibration procedures, safety protocols, and collaboration with internal teams to prepare new equipment for production and ensure N.I.S.T. traceability.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma preferred.
  • Familiar with using power and hand tools, meters and gauges.
  • Ability to wear PPE and lift up to 50 pounds.
  • 12-hour shift with standing/walking.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and calibrate plant gauges and instruments as required to meet the applicable Quality Standard.
  • Establish an appropriate time schedule to determine re-calibration or replacement needs of calibrated equipment.
  • Repair gauges and order new ones as needed.
  • Track calibration records on computer system.
  • Perform gauge R & R studies.
  • Write, revise, and maintain calibration procedures and instruction which will meet the requirements of the applicable Quality Standard.
  • Assist in preparing new equipment for the manufacturing floor.
  • Update calibration systems as needed and to comply with the applicable Quality Standard.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Maintain N.I.S.T. certified standards for the calibration system.
  • Work with outside calibration services to assure N.I.S.T. traceability.
  • Performs other miscellaneous duties inherent to the job.
  • Participate in internal and external audits to demonstrate compliance with Quality Standards.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions and coordinate repairs with external vendors if needed.
  • Provide training to production/quality personnel on proper use and handling of calibrated equipment if necessary.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols while performing calibration activities.

Overview

The Stryten factory in Salina, Kansas is one of the largest lead-acid battery manufacturing sites in North America with 800 employees capable of producing more than 35,000 quality batteries per day. These batteries can be found in your car, in your boat or RV, or, in your lawn and garden equipment. Stryten proudly supports the local community by regularly participating in Project Salina, the Salvation Army Angel Tree program, and providing more than 100 volunteers for the Smoky Hill River Festival.


Responsible for calibrating instruments, gauges, and verification of RTD thermocouple devices used in the inspection and measurement systems. Ensures accurate calibration records are maintained which conform to the applicable Quality Standard. Works within established policies, procedures, practices, and regulations.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:



  • High School diploma preferred

  • Power tools, hand tools, ladders, portable pumps, meters, gauges, testing and sampling equipment

  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, respirator, safety glasses, metatarsal guard shoes, etc., as required in established policy.

  • Frequent bending, lifting, pushing, stooping, and pulling.

  • Continuous standing and walking for a 12-hour shift.

  • Will be exposed to extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, humid).

  • Occasional lifting from grams up to 50 pounds
