Job summary

SpiTrex CTE is seeking a skilled Quality/Inspection Technician to calibrate and inspect medical-device components. This role requires GD&T knowledge, gaging experience, and the ability to read complex drawings.

You will support calibration activities, track equipment, and ensure compliance with ISO13485 and FDA quality requirements. Responsibilities include performing inspections, recording data accurately, and coordinating calibration schedules with customers.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of GD&T and metrology applications.
  • Basic knowledge of gaging and ability to read drawings.
  • Experience reading CMM reports and interpreting data.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and calibrate various gages and inspection tools.
  • Read procedures, work instructions, and drawings.
  • Disassemble and clean gages as needed.
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using measuring tools.
  • Verify calibration of inspection equipment prior to use.
  • Input calibration data into appropriate software.
  • Track calibration dates and conditions of gages.
  • Coordinate with customers for gaging needs.
  • Schedule calibration dates and related tasks.
  • Adhere to ISO13485, 21 CFR Part 820, and medical device requirements.

1st Shift: Monday to Thursday, 6:30AM - 3:30PM; Friday, 6:30AM - 10:30AM

Essential Functions
  • Manage and calibrate various gages - overlays, variable gages, attribute gages etc.
  • Read and interpret documents such as procedures, work instructions, specifications, drawings, and purchase orders.
  • Disassemble gages and clean accordingly
  • Perform in-process and final inspections on these assemblies by using measuring tools and ensuring they are in accordance with the applicable procedures/instructions
  • Verify conditions and calibration of all inspection and test equipment prior to use and completing the inspection.
  • Inputting calibration data into appropriate software
  • Ensure calibration dates are observed and track any gages past calibration
  • Contact customers for gaging as needed
  • Scheduling calibration dates as needed
  • Other work-related tasks as assigned
  • Conform to ISO13485, 21 CFR Part 820, and medical device industry requirements.
Competency
  • Understanding of GD+T and metrology application
  • Basic knowledge of gaging
  • Understand CMM reports
  • Strong organization skills
  • Able to multitask
  • Basic math, calculation, and related skills needed
  • Understanding of labeling, coding, and accuracy in records very important
  • Ability to comply with Quality System requirements
  • Application of Statistics
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
