Job summary

Gables Engineering, a HEICO Company in Coral Gables, FL, seeks a Calibration Technician I to calibrate, test, troubleshoot, and repair measuring and test equipment used on the production floor. You will handle oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, voltmeters, and other instruments to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Qualifications

• S. degree in electronics or equivalent military/technical trade experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronic instrumentation repair/calibration.
• Proven calibration, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair skills to the assembly/component level.
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.

Responsibilities

• Test and calibrate instruments including oscilloscopes, voltmeters and multimeters, signal sources, network/spectrum/signal analyzers, power supplies and measuring instruments.
• Calibrate industrial manufacturing equipment such as reflow ovens.
• Troubleshoot and repair test and measurement equipment to the assembly/component level.
• Record calibration results in calibration database per standards.
• Maintain the production tool inventory.

What You'll Do:

Reporting to the Director of Automation Engineering, you'll keep our test and production equipment accurate and in spec, from oscilloscopes and signal analyzers to reflow ovens. Your work makes sure every measurement on the production floor can be trusted.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Test and calibrate controlling, indicating, and measuring instruments, including oscilloscopes, voltmeters and multimeters, signal sources, network/spectrum/signal analyzers, power supplies, and mechanical measuring instruments
• Calibrate industrial manufacturing equipment such as reflow ovens
• Troubleshoot and repair test and measurement equipment to the assembly/component level
• Record calibration results in our calibration database in accordance with established standards
• Maintain the production tool inventory

Requirements

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• S. degree in electronics or equivalent military/technical trade experience
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electronic instrumentation repair/calibration
• Proven calibration, diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair skills to the assembly/component level
• Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies with minimal training
• Good organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple projects and priorities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally, with good manual dexterity and close-up vision for small parts

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Calibration experience in the avionics industry
