Job summary

VACCO Industries, a subsidiary of ESCO Technologies Inc., seeks an administrative calibration support to manage calibration inventory and coordinate services in accordance with company procedures.

You will process new devices into the calibration system, track locations, cooperate with QA, perform basic calibration, testing and documentation, and ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and VACCO VI-CAL standards.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge and understanding of VACCO’s internal Gage instructions and standards.
  • Familiar with ISO/IEC 17025 and VACCO VI-CAL procedures.
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing procedures and work order processing.
  • Familiar with MS software Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Process new devices into the calibration system, maintains an accurate record of all calibration requirements, calibrations, certifications, and the location of equipment at all times. Coordinates the calibration services with internal, and external sources
  • Check-in measurement test equipment when manufacturing and or QA drops off gages. Gages should be checked-in to the calibration system on arrival, then place on proper shelf.
  • Records and tracks the location of all equipment in calibration. Controls the physical movement of equipment within and out of the Calibration Lab and makes location changes as necessary when transferred to a new location.
  • Recalls equipment as necessary for Calibration and coordinates internal calibration of equipment with the Quality department.
  • Performs calibration, testing, troubleshooting and repairs as necessary, data collection and report completion on a wide range of mechanical and test equipment.
  • Use established internal procedures as well as industry standards, manufacturer procedures for the proper calibration and troubleshooting of mechanical measuring and test equipment.
  • Completes required documentation to certify the verification and calibration of mechanical measuring and test equipment.
  • Provides recommendations for improving calibration procedures.
  • Self-manage time to obtain maximum efficiency.
  • Follows company policies and standard operating procedures.

SUMMARY:

Provides administrative and clerical support for all aspects of calibration inventory control and the coordination of calibration services in accordance with company established procedures and standards while performing the following duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have knowledge and a clear understanding of VACCO’s internal Gage instructions and standards below:

  • ISO/IEC 17025
  • VI-CAL
  • VACCO VI-CAL-XXX Note: be familiar with all calibrated procedure located in IQS
  • Basic knowledge of manufacturing procedures, including work order processing. Familiar with MS software such as Word, Excel, Access and Outlook.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one (3) year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to other employees of the organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurements, volume and distance.

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written and oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls. The employee frequently is required to stand, reach with hands and arms, talk or hear. Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 20 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Majority of work is performed in an environmentally controlled lab per ANSI/INCSL Z540.1.
