Position: Calibration Lab Engineer

As a Calibration Lab Engineer, you will be responsible for developing, modifying, implementing, and maintaining the calibration/metrology program. You will assist with the selection of new Measuring & Test Equipment (M&TE) and resolve calibration/accuracy issues with existing M&TE at Houston, TX.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Update and improve the calibration/metrology program based on the latest technologies, methodologies, and research.
  2. Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure calibration/metrology standards and policies are in place.
  3. Design and implement methods and procedures for calibrating M&TE (electronic, electro-mechanical, dimensional, pressure, optical, laser, etc.).
  4. Specify inspection and testing mechanisms, processes, and equipment for calibration purposes.
  5. Troubleshoot and resolve issues with calibration processes and equipment.
  6. Support stakeholders in evaluating and correcting issues related to M&TE, including accuracy and tolerances.
  7. Serve as a Calibration/Metrology SME for corporate standards and projects.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience (e.g., high school +13 years, Associate +9 years, Master’s +2 years, PhD +0 years).
  • Fluent in English communication.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Work hours: Exempt.
  • Travel requirements: 5-10%.
  • No relocation assistance or sponsorship available.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
  • Recognized SME in calibration/metrology principles related to electrical, mechanical, optical, laser, and pressure M&TE.
  • Knowledge of M&TE used in design, manufacture, testing, and repair of optical/ocular/ophthalmological medical devices.
