Job summary

Tata Technologies in Columbus, Indiana, invites a seasoned automotive software engineer to develop and validate control algorithms in MATLAB/Simulink. You will tune calibrations for engines and emissions, perform MIL/SIL/PCU testing, and support auto-code generation and build processes.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated MATLAB/Simulink capability to develop/maintain/test/debug algorithms for control systems (lookup tables, filters, PI/D loops, fixed-point math).
• Experience with MIL/SIL testing, polyspace, and calibration/tuning workflows.
• Familiarity with OBD 3-step tuning, cross-tools, test plans, and production of calibration data.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, test, and debug control algorithms for automotive systems using MATLAB/Simulink.
• Conduct calibration tuning and testing on open-loop/test benches; support HIL testing.
• Create and execute test plans; manage requirements and traceability.
• Contribute to auto-code generation and build processes; support software integration.
• Leverage experience in combustion/emission tuning and powertrain domains.

Job description

• Good with MATLAB/Simulink/Model in Loop
• Capability in MATLAB scripting, Simulink and stateflow
• MIL,SIL, Polyspace Testing Experience
• Calterm, Polyspace Testing experience
• Experience in combustion and emission tuning
• Aftertreatment/DOC/SCR/PFS/Diagnostic Software experience preferred.
• Windchill and clearcase understanding
• Experience in OBD 3 Step Tuning, Cross Tools, Test plan writing, Calibration tuning would be added advantage.
• Requirements management
• Demonstrable capability in MATLAB/Simulink to develop/maintain/test/debug algorithms involved in development of typical control systems (like lookup tables, filters, PI/D loops, timers/counters, fixed point arithmetic)
