Job summary

TekWissen Group is partnering with a global automotive leader to fill the position of Calibration Engineer on a 12-month, on-site assignment in the United States. The role focuses on engine calibration for North America and global markets, supporting emissions, fuel economy, and drivability targets.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering, with 1+ years in engine calibration, strong knowledge of model-based design, MATLAB/Simulink, and

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical or related Engineering discipline
  • 1+ years of engine calibration experience
  • Excellent driving record
  • Thorough understanding of internal combustion engine theory/practice
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink/C/C++ programming languages
  • Experience with Model-Based Design or Calibration processes
  • Experience with Python, VBA, etc.
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience with Emission, bench, drivability or OBD calibration
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment
  • Understanding of Emission and OBD regulations and other markets

Responsibilities

  • Calibration of engine controls for North America and global markets
  • Complete engine calibration to meet regulations and performance targets (emission, fuel economy, power, drivability and OBD)
  • Prepare and manage calibration and resource schedule to meet development deadlines
  • Test preparation, data collection, data analysis, and technical report creation on a regular basis
  • Build successful relationships with calibration technician group
  • Conduct vehicle testing and development under extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, high altitude)
  • Complete required internal training necessary for job execution (Technical, Driving, etc.)Perform software logic and value confirmation activities

Job Description

  • Calibration of engine controls for North America and global markets
  • Complete engine calibration in accordance with procedures to meet regulations and other performance targets (emission, fuel economy, power, drivability and OBD)
  • Prepare and manage calibration and resource schedule to meet development deadlines
  • Test preparation, data collection, data analysis, and technical report creation on a regular basis
  • Build successful relationships with calibration technician group
  • Conduct vehicle testing and development under extreme environmental conditions (hot, cold, high altitude)
  • Complete required internal training necessary for job execution (Technical, Driving, etc.)Perform software logic and value confirmation activities

Requirements

  • A Bachelor s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical, Electrical or other related Engineering discipline
  • Experience in engine calibration (1+ years)
  • Excellent driving record
  • Thorough understanding of internal combustion engine theory/practice
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Experience investigating technical issues and creating effective technical solutions
  • Emission, bench, drivability or OBD calibration experience in conventional and/or hybrid powertrain
  • Experience with Model-Based Design or Calibration processes
  • Experience with other programming languages such as Python, VBA, etc.
  • Proficiency in project management tools
  • Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink/C/C++ programming languages
  • Experience working in a culturally diverse environment
  • Understanding of Emission and OBD regulations and other markets
