Job summary

MSR Technology Group in Michigan is seeking a Calibration Engineer to support engine calibration and powertrain development for conventional and hybrid vehicles, focusing on emissions, fuel economy, drivability, and OBD calibration.

You will conduct vehicle testing, data analysis, report findings, and collaborate with teams to ensure calibration milestones are met across North American and global markets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field.
• At least 1 year of engine calibration experience.
• Strong understanding of internal combustion engines and engine controls.
• Experience with emissions, drivability, bench, or OBD calibration.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Python, or VBA is a plus.

Responsibilities

This role focuses on engine performance, emissions compliance, fuel economy, drivability, and OBD calibration across North American and global markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform engine control calibration to meet emissions, fuel economy, power, drivability, and OBD targets.
• Conduct vehicle testing, data collection, analysis, and technical reporting.
• Support calibration planning, scheduling, and development milestones.
• Perform testing under extreme environmental conditions, including hot, cold, and high-altitude environments.
• Validate software logic and calibration values.
• Collaborate with calibration technicians and engineering teams to troubleshoot technical issues.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related Engineering discipline.
• At least 1 year of engine calibration experience.
• Strong understanding of internal combustion engines and engine controls.
• Experience with emissions, drivability, bench, or OBD calibration.
• Proficiency in MS Office; MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Python, or VBA experience is a plus.
• Understanding of U.S. and/or international emissions and OBD regulations.
• Excellent driving record and willingness to conduct vehicle testing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with conventional and/or hybrid powertrains.
• Model-Based Design or calibration process experience.
• Experience supporting global markets, including Europe, Japan, or China.
