Sterling Engineering is seeking a Calibration Coordinator to manage laboratory equipment calibration, asset records, and maintenance activities in a highly regulated environment. You will own calibration programs, CMMS (Maximo), and equipment lifecycle management to ensure readiness for audits and inspections.

The role requires coordinating schedules, maintaining detailed records, and collaborating with Engineering, Quality, and Facilities teams to drive compliance and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in calibration, metrology, or asset management.
  • Experience with Maximo or similar CMMS.
  • Understanding calibration programs and lifecycle management.
  • Experience in a regulated environment (cGMP/FDA/ISO).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary administrator for calibration and asset management system.
  • Coordinate calibration schedules and preventive maintenance for lab/R&D equipment.
  • Work with internal teams and service providers to complete activities on schedule.
  • Maintain equipment records, calibration history, and lifecycle docs.
  • Support equipment procurement, installation, transfers, qualification, retirement.
  • Develop calibration specifications and procedures.
  • Assist with equipment qualification and validation as needed.
  • Coordinate CAPAs and NCRs and non-conformance investigations.
  • Support internal audits and regulatory inspections for compliance.
  • Identify process improvements in calibration and asset management.
  • Advise lab personnel on calibration requirements and compliance.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Facilities, and lab teams.

Overview:

A leading organization in a highly regulated industry is seeking a Calibration Coordinator to support laboratory and R&D operations through the management of equipment calibration, asset records, and maintenance activities. This individual will serve as a key owner of the calibration and asset management program, ensuring laboratory equipment remains compliant, properly maintained, and ready for internal and external inspections.

The ideal candidate will bring experience with calibration programs, CMMS platforms, equipment lifecycle management, and quality systems within a regulated environment.

Job Duties:
  • Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter resource for the calibration and asset management system.
  • Coordinate calibration schedules, preventative maintenance activities, and related work orders for laboratory and R&D equipment.
  • Partner with internal teams and third-party service providers to ensure calibration activities are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain detailed equipment records, asset ownership information, calibration history, and lifecycle documentation.
  • Support equipment procurement, installation, transfers, qualification, and retirement activities.
  • Develop and maintain calibration specifications, procedures, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with equipment qualification and validation activities as needed.
  • Coordinate activities related to CAPAs, NCRs, overdue or delinquent equipment, and non-conformance investigations.
  • Support internal audits and regulatory inspections while maintaining compliance with applicable quality and regulatory standards.
  • Identify and implement process improvements related to calibration, maintenance, and asset management.
  • Provide guidance to laboratory personnel regarding calibration requirements and equipment compliance.
  • Collaborate closely with Engineering, Quality, Facilities, and laboratory teams to support operational and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in calibration, metrology, laboratory equipment management, asset management, or a related engineering function.
  • Experience working with Maximo or another CMMS or computerized asset management system.
  • Strong understanding of calibration programs, preventative maintenance, and equipment lifecycle management.
  • Experience working in a regulated environment such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices, biotechnology, diagnostics, or regulated manufacturing.
  • Working knowledge of cGMP, FDA, ISO, and quality management systems.
  • Strong organizational, coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
