Applied Technical Services, LLC (ATS) seeks a Calibration Repair Technician based in Corydon, IN to perform repair and calibration of diverse precision instruments in the lab and at customer sites. The role requires 2–5+ years of calibration experience, strong mechanical and electrical skills, and the ability to travel locally and regionally, including overnight stays.

Qualifications

  • 2–5+ years calibrating/measuring inspection and testing equipment.
  • High School diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred or related experience.
  • Commercial or Military experience acceptable.
  • Familiarity with basic hand tools; Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Willingness to travel locally and regionally, with occasional overnight trips.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and calibrate a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, and electronic instruments.
  • Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble precision instruments per specs.
  • Identify measurement methods and use precision test equipment to verify performance.
  • Document repair activities and calibration results accurately and completely.
  • Travel locally and regionally to support customer service needs.

Job DescriptionThe candidate will work both independently and with other technicians on the team. The successful candidate should have at least two (2) years of hands-on mechanical, electrical and/or physical/dimensional calibration experience or related experience. Additionally, the Calibration Repair Technician will be a self-starter, possess good interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) as well as have computer competency.Candidates must be willing to travel to local and regional customer sites to Repair/calibrate a variety of inspection, measuring and testing equipment.ResponsibilitiesTroubleshoot, diagnose, repair, and calibrate a wide variety of mechanical, electrical, and electronic instruments and equipment.Disassemble, inspect, repair, and reassemble precision instruments in accordance with manufacturer specifications and company procedures.Identify appropriate measurement methods and utilize precision test equipment to verify performance and compliance.Maintain calibration standards, tools, and laboratory equipment in accordance with quality system requirements.Perform soldering, component replacement, and minor electronic repairs on instruments and assemblies.Use precision measurement equipment including micrometers, calipers, multimeters, torque analyzers, pressure gauges, and temperature measurement devices.Calibrate and repair torque drivers, torque wrenches, hardness testers, optical comparators, surface plates, tensile testers, and force measurement equipment.Document repair activities, calibration results, and service records accurately and completely.Work collaboratively with technicians and other team members to meet customer turnaround and quality requirements.Perform service and calibration work both in the laboratory and at customer locations as required.Adhere to all company safety policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.Travel locally and regionally to support customer service needs, including occasional overnight travel.Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.Perform other duties as assigned.Travel requirement: local and regional travel with approximately 20% overnight travelQualifications / SkillsStrong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.Experience repairing and calibrating precision instruments and test equipment.Proficiency with hand tools, soldering equipment, and electronic test instruments.Ability to interpret technical manuals, drawings, and calibration procedures.Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle small, delicate components.Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.RequirementsEducation And Experience2 - 5+ years' experience in mechanical measuring, inspection, and testing equipment calibration preferred.
