What are we looking for?

The full-time petroleum inspector is responsible for volume measurement, temperature measurement, and sampling of commodity materials contained or conveyed in lines, shore tanks, cars, tank trucks, etc. This position involves traveling to client locations for onsite inspections.

Shift/Schedule:

Full Time

What you'll do:

• Understand and adhere to Caleb Brett safety procedures.
• Seal tanker trucks at third-party terminals.
• Perform duties such as volume measurement, temperature measurement, and sampling according to specified methodology, and complete associated paperwork.
• Conduct visual inspections on lines, pumps, manifolds, shore tanks, rail cars, and tank trucks.
• Complete custody transfer surveys of commodities transferred to and from rail cars, tank trucks, and shore tanks.
• Perform routine equipment calibrations, verifications, and function checks.
• Verify and communicate results, and record data accurately.
• Provide on-the-job assistance and receive training from experienced inspectors.
• Coordinate with terminal, transport, and company personnel to ensure smooth operations.
• Monitor supplies needed for inspections and report needs accordingly.
• Maintain work areas, records, and equipment in a clean and organized manner.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

• Basic understanding of mathematics and experience working in an automated environment.
• Ability to work on an on-call basis.
• No fear of heights.
• Ability to climb ladders and stairs for shore tanks.
• Experience with volume, temperature measurement, and sampling of commodity materials.
• Ability to perform visual inspections on various equipment and vehicles.
• Ability to complete custody transfer surveys.
• Routine calibration and verification skills.
• Effective communication and record-keeping skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable driving record.

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

• IFIA certification is a plus.
• TWIC certification is a plus.
