Job summary

Woodson Lumber Company in Caldwell, TX is seeking an experienced CDL Class A or B Driver to support our supply chain logistics. You will transport finished goods and raw materials to distribution centers and plants, inspect vehicles, plan routes, and ensure timely deliveries while maintaining safety and compliance.

Responsibilities include logging driving hours, retaining receipts, and assisting in yard operations.

Qualifications

• Proven work experience as a truck driver.
• Ability to drive long hours.
• Extensive knowledge of truck driving rules and regulations.
• No recent moving or driving violations.
• Adaptability to handle unexpected situations.
• Valid Class A or B license.

Responsibilities

• Transport finished goods and raw materials over land to and from manufacturing plants or retail and distribution centers
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues and perform preventative maintenance
• Plan routes and meet delivery schedules
• Document and log work/rest periods and miles spent driving and retain fuel/toll receipts
• Comply with truck driving rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking and break periods) as well as with company policies and procedures
• Maneuver trucks into loading or unloading positions
• Collect and verify delivery instructions
• Report defects, accidents or violations
• Assist in the yard pulling loads and assisting customers
• Other duties as assigned
