Job summary

Price Chopper, part of the Balls Food Stores family in Missouri, is seeking a creative Cake Decorator to design and decorate high-quality cakes and desserts that delight guests and support bakery sales.

You will work with icing, fondant and other decorative elements, maintain cleanliness and organization, and provide friendly, respectful guest service while meeting production deadlines and special requests.

Qualifications

• Previous cake decorating or bakery experience
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs

Responsibilities

• Decorate cakes, cupcakes, and other bakery items according to guest requests and company standards
• Create custom designs using icing, fondant, and other decorative elements
• Ensure all products meet quality, freshness, and visual presentation standards
• Provide friendly, helpful, and respectful guest service at all times
• Consult with guests to understand design needs, themes, and special requests
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bakery and decorating area
• Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace safety standards
• Manage time effectively to meet production schedules and order deadlines
• Assist with baking, filling, and preparing products as needed
• Monitor inventory levels of decorating supplies and communicate needs to leadership
• Stay informed on bakery promotions and seasonal offerings to support sales
• Work collaboratively with bakery team members and store leadership
• Support additional bakery or store operations as needed
• Remain productive during slower periods by preparing materials, practicing designs, or supporting team tasks
• Other job duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
• Required: Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
