Job Description
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Keeps bakery department well stocked and appealing, greets customers, makes suggestions, answers questions, and helps resolve concerns. Takes orders over the phone or in person, determines customer preferences, and creates decorated products promptly.
- Decorates cakes and bakery products using dyes, designs, or custom creations, utilizing various creams, frostings, and fillings while adhering to company recipes.
- Prepares cakes by trimming, cutting, spreading icing, and tinting icing to required colors.
- Assists in filling and merchandising the bakery area, ensuring quality and freshness through proper rotation and markdown policies. Manages inventory levels with proper ordering and logging.
- May assist with receiving, unloading, checking deliveries, and storing through operation of power or hand jacks (training provided).
- May assist with bailing cardboard or related duties (training provided).
- Maintains sanitation standards, follows cleaning schedules, and ensures compliance with health and OSHA requirements. Properly disposes of trash.
- Supports departmental and store operations by cooperating with coworkers and supervisors, and strives for continuous job performance improvement.
- Utilizes all company-provided Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including cut-resistant gloves, safety cutters, and footwear.
- May be called upon to assist in other departments as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position currently has no supervisory responsibilities.
Qualification Requirements
High School Diploma or GED required. 1-2 years of decorating experience preferred. Must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily with or without accommodations.
