Job summary

Greif is seeking a Cage Line Operator on the 2nd shift (Mon-Fri, 3:30PM-12AM; occasional Saturdays 2:30PM-11PM) to operate routine production machinery and meet specified part quantities. You will measure parts, maintain logs, and ensure quality and safety in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or equivalent and 1–2 years of relevant experience, with the ability to read prints and follow specifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; 1–2 years manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow prints and specifications.
• Strong understanding of production equipment and operational safety.
• Able to work in a team and maintain quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Operates routine production machinery according to prints and specifications.
• Produces required quantity of parts within specifications and tolerances.
• Measures finished parts with precision tools; ensures quality and cosmetic standards.
• Maintains logs of units produced and reports any rejected pieces.
• Inspects equipment prior to use and performs basic adjustments and maintenance.
• Keeps work area clean, safe, and orderly; follows safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Job Description

2nd Shift Schedule

Monday - Friday, 3:30PM - 12AM, Occasional Saturdays: 2:30PM - 11PM

Key Responsibilities

• Operates mostly routine production machinery in accordance with prints and specifications provided.
• Performs mostly routine activities that produces the required quantity of parts within established specifications and tolerances.
• Measures finished parts with precision tools, ensuring compliance with function, quality, and cosmetic specifications.
• Maintains logs and records of units produced.
• Report any errors resulting in rejected or discarded pieces.
• Inspects equipment prior to use to ensure proper setup and alignment; performs mostly basic and routine adjustments and maintenance.
• Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
• Follow safety regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience

• Typically possesses a high school diploma (or equivalent) and 1-2 years of relevant experience.

Knowledge and Skills

• Follow directions and work well in a team.
• Ability to interpret and translate job specifications for production machineries.
• Solid understanding of the production equipment.

Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is $21.15 - $33.85annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between21.15 to22.00. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. If the competitive wage is equal in both fields, the starting rate is the same for all applicants that apply for this role. The starting rate is not representative of future compensation increases. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
