Job summary

Hard Rock Casino Rockford is seeking a cashier-friendly team member to handle front-money, currency exchange, check cashing and related transactions. You will work on the casino floor, process window transactions, balance cash at shift end, and maintain strict confidentiality of financial data.

Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent, 21+ years old, and background checks. Prior cashier experience and basic math skills are preferred. Equal opportunity employer.

Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing superior service to both the internal and external guests. The incumbent is also responsible for performing varied cashier functions in a pleasant, efficient, and honest manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Quickly and accurately makes change, cashes checks, and processes fills.
  • Write receipts for pay outs, and other documents.
  • Inputs and accesses information on the computer.
  • Greet patrons and offers efficient, timely customer service during all window transactions.
  • Uses current technology to obtain customer credit information, field incoming calls and coordinates work with fellow employees.
  • Mantains bank balance and keeps work area clean and supplies stocked.
  • Completes any required paperwork.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by the shift supervisor.
  • Customer facing transactions: Front Money, and Safekeeping transactions
  • Currency exchange Check cashing Credit card cash advance Ticket related transactions
  • Required to complete all related documentation with accuracy.
  • Balances specifically assigned areas with accuracy.
  • Adheres to Internal Controls and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Adheres to all AML/Title 31 regulations.
  • Follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to all Illinois Gaming Regulations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  • Attend seminars when needed.
EDUCATION AND /OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Prior cashier or teller experience preferred. Good arithmetic skills preferred.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must obtain and maintain all licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Illinois Gaming Commission.
  • Must successfully pass background check.
  • Must maintain strict confidentiality relative to financial data and casino policies.
  • Must always Be well-groomed and in appropriate uniform with appropriate license visible.
  • Must be twenty-one (21) years of age.
KNOWLEDGE OF:
  • Procedures, methods, and equipment including computers and applicable software applications such as word processing, email, spreadsheets, and databases to include excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Power-Point.
  • Basic math skills.
  • 10-Key calculator.
  • Prior cashier or teller experience strongly preferred.
ABILITY TO:
  • Be flexible to work varying shifts and time schedules as needed.
  • This position spends time on the Casino floor and is subject to varying levels of crowds and noise, and the severity of which depends upon guest volume.
  • Communicate effectively with outside contacts and all levels of team members.
  • Review, comprehend, analyze, and assimilate reports, information generated on and by the computer and other necessary documentation.
  • Obtain and maintain all appropriate licenses / certifications per Federal, State, and Gaming regulations.
  • Balance bank at end of shift.
  • Identify and accurately cash different denominations of cash currency, checks, etc.
  • Stand 100% of the time in a noisy environment.
  • Lift based on assigned areas.
