Description of the Position:

The Cage Cashier is responsible for assisting guests with transactions and for balancing various bank drawers within the Cage Department, maintaining accuracy throughout all phases of the balancing process. This position works under immediate supervision, relying on limited experience, instructions, pre-established guidelines, and good judgment. All job duties are performed under strict policies and regulations.

Primary Duties, Responsibilities, and Tasks:
  • Support and uphold Valley View Casino & Hotel’s Standards of Excellence as outlined in the Team Member Guide to Success.
  • Maintain positive guest relations at all times, resolving guest complaints and ensuring satisfaction. Greet guests courteously and with personalized service.
  • Handle cash and tickets accurately, providing appropriate change.
  • Adhere to established cash control policies and procedures.
  • Keep work area clean and organized.
  • Participate in ensuring smooth and efficient cage operations.
  • Stay informed about facility and special events to assist and advise guests and team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Conduct all responsibilities professionally and ethically.
  • Maintain consistent, regular attendance.
  • Follow performance standards, company policies, and procedures relevant to the department.
Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED equivalent.
  • At least one year of cash handling experience.
  • Ability to speak, understand, read, and write English proficiently.
  • Ability to analyze documents, interpret instructions, and apply policies.
  • Good judgment and problem-solving skills.
  • Mathematical ability to work with fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.
  • Ability to pass auditions or skill tests and a drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a casino or gaming environment.
Physical Requirements:
  • Good vision and ability to navigate the environment.
  • Regularly talk and hear; stand, walk, sit, and use hands.
  • Lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally.
Working Conditions:
  • 24/7 operation requiring flexible shifts.
  • Exposure to tobacco smoke, moving parts, and airborne particles.
  • Inside and occasional outside environmental conditions.
  • Moderate to loud noise levels.
