Job summary

The Greater Cincinnati School Application Consortium is seeking a part-time Food Service worker in a high school setting in Ohio. The role covers routine food production, preparation and packaging of menu items with emphasis on safety and efficiency.

The position runs 5 hours daily (7:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.), pays $17.20 per hour, and requires the ability to operate standard kitchen equipment, pass a criminal history check, and work as part of a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, assemble and package a variety of menu items including sandwiches.
• Slice meat, cheese and vegetables for sandwiches and other items.
• Pack prepared sandwiches for transport to units on campus.
• Clean and sanitize work areas and equipment.
• Wash all dishes, utensils and containers; operate kitchen equipment as required.
• Monitor and record temperature settings for coolers and freezers.
• Maintain organization of coolers and freezers; perform other duties as required.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Routine manual work involving food production in Food Service cash operations in a high school setting. Work involves preparing and making food options which may include but are not limited to: slicing and weighing of meat, vegetables, fruits and grain products for cooking, assembling, packaging, and packing of menu items. Activities and decisions are routine in nature. Employee follows written and/or oral procedures and practices.

Must have the ability tooperate commercial dishwasher, meat slicer, ovens, mixers and other small appliances. Ability to handle knives and other sharp items in a safe manner.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: may include some or all of the following:

• Prepare, mix and assemble a variety of sandwiches
• Slice meat, cheese, vegetables or other products for sandwiches or other menu options
• Pack prepared sandwiches for transport and delivery to units on campus
• Clean and sanitize work area and equipment
• Clean all food contact surfaces with sanitizer
• Sweep and mop floors
• Wash and sanitize slicing equipment after every use
• Clean and organize coolers and freezers
• Cook menu items, prepare steam table set-up and break-down, and clean steam table
• Record temperature setting on coolers and freezers
• Operate commercial dishwasher
• Wash all dishes, utensils, knives and containers
• Perform other duties as required
• Must satisfy all job related attendance requirements
• A record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment
