Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a friendly Cafeteria Worker to prepare, portion, and serve food and beverages for cafeteria service and catered events. You will maintain a clean, orderly dining area and assist customers with a smile.

Responsibilities include preparing menu items, portioning accurately, cashier duties when needed, and ensuring equipment is clean and sanitary. Prior food service and cash register experience preferred; high school diploma required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in food service.
  • Minimum 1 year experience with cash registers.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced cafeteria environment.

  • Prepares miscellaneous food and beverage items in the prescribed manner and stores them properly.
  • Portions food accurately and serves in an attractive manner.
  • Maintains adequate supply of self-serve items properly displayed.
  • Records items and volumes provided and returned from, catered events.
  • Cashiers when functioning in the absence of a Cafeteria Worker II.
  • Makes sure that cafeteria and dining room equipment are orderly, clean, and sanitary.

Summary
  • Prepares, portions, and serves food and beverages required for cafeteria service and catered activities. Collects money and maintains a pleasant environment in an area which is kept orderly, clean, and sanitary.

Credentials
  • Education or Equivalent Experience:
