Job summary

Burlington Public Schools is seeking a reliable, team-oriented kitchen helper for the Burlington High School cafeteria. This permanent part-time role covers 15 hours per week (10:00am–1:00pm) reporting to the Director of Food Services and the Cafeteria Manager.

Responsibilities include preparing and serving meals, cleaning equipment, monitoring cash receipts as needed, and maintaining sanitation and safety per ServSafe standards.

Qualifications

• No experience required; training provided.
• Must be reliable, flexible and enjoy working in a team.
• Must be willing to be ServSafe trained and follow safety standards.
• Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds.

Job Description

The Burlington Public Schools is seeking an energetic, hardworking individual to add to the food service program. This is a permanent position for 15 hours a week (3 hours daily) reporting to the Director of Food Services and the Cafeteria Manager.

General responsibilities include the efficient operation of the kitchen in cooperation with the Manager, and assisting the manager in the following functions:

• Preparation and serving meals, cleanup operations of kitchen and equipment
• Monitor cash receipts and cashier as needed
• Perform other duties as required by the Manager
• Maintain sanitation and safety standards in accordance to ServSafe protocol

There is no experience necessary for the position, and training is provided. Must be reliable, flexible, and enjoy working in a team environment. Must be willing to be ServSafe trained. Must be able to follow all safety standards as well as lift and occasionally move up to 30 pounds.

Compensation: Starting rate is $21.26/hour

Location: Burlington High School

Hours: 10:00am-1:00pm

Start Date: Position is available immediately
