Job description

Milford Christian Academy is seeking a dedicated, organized individual to serve as the cafeteria manager. This part‑time position oversees the daily operation of the school food service program within the guidelines of the Ohio Department of Education and Workforce and in accordance with policies and procedures set forth by the Ohio department of health.

Key Responsibilities
  • Menu Planning and Meal Service – Planning menus, ensuring meals are nutritious and appealing.
  • Food Production and Preparation – Overseeing food preparation, ensuring proper cooking techniques, portion control, and compliance with state and local guidelines.
  • Inventory and Ordering – Managing inventory, ordering/purchasing food and supplies from approved vendors, and receiving deliveries.
  • Food Safety and Sanitation – Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment, and implementing sanitation procedures in the kitchen area as well as the lunch area.
  • Financial Management – Maintaining accurate records of food production, inventory, and daily operations while controlling costs within budgetary guidelines.
  • Compliance – Adhering to school policies and procedures, as well as federal, state and local regulations.
  • Communication and Collaboration – Communicating effectively with students, teachers and administration.
  • Special Dietary Needs – Managing special dietary accommodations for students with allergies and medical needs.
  • Special Events – Planning and implementing meals for school functions when requested.
Qualifications
  • Staff members must have a clear testimony of salvation and a desire to share the Gospel with the lost.
  • Staff members must have a personal testimony in both their personal and professional life that glorifies the Lord.
  • Staff members must be active, faithful, tithing members of First Baptist Church of Milford or a church of like faith and doctrine approved by the pastor of First Baptist Church of Milford:
    • Active – regular, voluntary Sunday, Saturday or Thursday evening service.
    • Faithful – attend all church services on Sunday (Life/Growth Group or Sunday School, morning worship, evening worship) and Thursday, as well as special services such as revival services and missions conference.
    • Tithing – regular tithing (10% or more if God leads) of gross income at each pay period.
  • Staff members must submit to state and federal background checks prior to employment and every five years thereafter. Failure to pass the state or federal background check will forfeit the opportunity for employment at Milford Christian Academy.
  • Staff members must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Staff members who do not teach must possess the required credential as required by the state of Ohio.
