Job summary

Woonsocket Public Schools in Woonsocket, RI is seeking a Lunch Aide to work with the Woonsocket Facilities Department. This is a part-time position serving breakfast and/or lunch in the cafeteria.

You will supervise students, help distribute meals, and assist with cleaning and trash disposal. The job requires basic reading/writing, neatness, and the ability to relate well to children, plus a mandatory BCI fingerprinting at personal cost.

Qualifications

• Ability to read basic instructions and write reports.
• Demonstrated aptitude for successful completion of tasks.
• Neat appearance and work.
• Develop a good rapport with children.
• Clear BCI fingerprinting required by law, at personal cost of $45.

Responsibilities

• Report to work promptly.
• Complete time sheets with school secretary daily.
• Provide supervision of children during lunch and/or breakfast.
• Ensure trays are emptied properly into receptacles including recycling.
• Clean/sanitize tables between servings and at the end of meals.
• Spot clean floors during and after meals.
• Assist students in obtaining straws, napkins, utensils, etc.
• Give directions to students in a quiet, firm and positive manner.
• Do not restrain students.
• Supervise playground areas to ensure safety.
• Perform other related tasks as assigned.
• Work the schedule as assigned by the building principal.
