Job summary

Northern High in Grand Rapids, Michigan seeks a Food Service Worker for school-year duties, 9 AM–1 PM, 5 days a week. Responsible for preparing, presenting, and serving student, staff, and special function foods, using standard recipes and maintaining quality and records.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED equivalency certificate required.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Must pass 50 lb lift test.

Responsibilities

• Communicate effectively in English, written and spoken.
• Interpret recipes and measure ingredients.
• Review production records and determine quantities.
• Work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Coordinate with Food Service Director and District Chef for menu items and supplies.
• Ensure proper food presentation and standard portion controls.
• Maintain safety, cleanliness, and sanitation per procedures.
• Assist with serving lines and support cafeteria operations.
• Complete monthly inventory and trainings as assigned.
