Job Description

BISDCafeteria Worker

The School Cafeteria Worker assists with the preparation and serving of meals to students and staff while maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary food service environment.

Essential Duties:

• Assist with preparing, serving, and portioning food according to established menus and guidelines.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and properly.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of kitchen, serving areas, equipment, dishes, and utensils.
• Follow all food safety, health, and sanitation regulations.
• Assist with receiving, storing, and rotating food and supplies.
• Maintain appropriate food temperatures and follow proper food-handling procedures.
• Provide courteous and professional service to students and staff.
• Assist with cleaning tables, floors, trash removal, and other general cafeteria duties.
• Work cooperatively with cafeteria staff and follow directions from the Cafeteria Manager.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Employees may be reassigned to another campus based on district needs or administrative decisions and may be asked to assist at other campuses when additional cafeteria staff are needed.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, stoop, lift and carry supplies, and perform repetitive kitchen and cleaning tasks. Must be able to work safely in a fast-paced food service environment.
