Job description

Overview

The Cafeteria Staff at Cook Spencer is responsible for food preparation, stocking, providing customer service, and maintaining cleanliness of the cafeteria.

Responsibilities

  1. Prepare menu items such as hot foods, lunch meats and cheeses, vegetables, and other items for the salad bar.
  2. Set-up salad bar and maintain during meals.
  3. Assist with changeover from breakfast to lunch.
  4. Stock items in stock room, reach-in coolers, break rooms, and dining room drink stations.
  5. Operate cash register during meals.
  6. Serve items from hot bar during meals.
  7. Respond promptly to provide polite, courteous service to customers.
  8. Clean stock room, kitchen, and dining areas as directed by supervisor.
  9. Sweep and mop floors.
  10. Communicate with Supervisor and other cafeteria personnel to achieve a productive team effort.
  11. Maintain a high standard of cleanliness.

Qualifications

  1. Minimum 18 years of age.
  2. Baking experience preferred.
  3. ServSafe certification preferred.

Shift Time: 5:30am - 2pm, Monday - Friday

Physical Requirements:

  1. Moderate exposure to noise level in the work environment that is moderate to occasionally loud.
  2. Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  3. Frequent repetitive motion.
  4. Attention to detail.
  5. Able to stand for extended periods during the shift.
  6. Frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to grasp, carry, feel or touch; reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch; communicate.
  7. Personal Protective Equipment as required within Food Service Areas.
