Job summary

Adams and Associates is seeking a Food Service Assistant at the Brunswick Job Corps Center in Brunswick, GA. The role supports food preparation, sanitation, and service while ensuring supplies and equipment are ready for use.

Responsibilities include assisting with meals, maintaining clean kitchen and cafeteria areas, and supervising Work-Based Learning students. A GED or high school diploma is required, with potential certification in local food handling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Ability to obtain local Food Handling / Health Certification
• Ability to lift 40 pounds, or to assess a load and request assistance as needed
• Preferred: degree or certification from a relevant training program
• Experience in a food services operation

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of food for meals, washing, peeling, and coring fruits and vegetables as needed
• Transfer food, supplies, and equipment between storage areas and the kitchen/cafeteria; set up and take down tables and chairs
• Provide superior customer service at all times
• Scrape, wash, and store dishes, pots, pans, and utensils
• Clear, clean, and sanitize the kitchen, cafeteria, and food storage areas; clean refrigerators, stoves, ovens, and other equipment
• Sweep, mop, wax, and strip floors; clean and store trash containers; degrease and sanitize vent screens and filters
• Ensure food, supplies, and equipment are available and stored properly when not in use
• Supervise Work-Based Learning students; mentor and model Career Success Standards
