Job summary

Publix Super Markets is seeking a dedicated cook for its Greensboro distribution facility in North Carolina. You will prepare, cook, and serve meals for Publix associates in a fast-paced environment, with additional responsibilities as needed.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of cooking experience, possession of Food Safety Certification (or within 90 days), and the ability to lift 50 pounds while working nights, weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Knowledge of cooking principles.
• Minimum 1 year cooking experience with diverse entrees/methods.
• Food Safety Certification or equivalent within 90 days of start date.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and read/write simple math.
• Complete Basic Office Skills Test before start date.
• Able to follow instructions, stand long periods, bend and twist.
• Teamwork and commitment to Publix's mission.

Required Qualifications

• Successfully complete a Basic Office Skills Test (before their start date in the position)

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week's pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks' pay.
