Job summary

Publix Super Markets is seeking a Food Preparation role in the Deerfield Beach distribution area. You will prepare, cook, and serve meals for Publix associates, following safety standards and quality guidelines.

This position requires cooking experience, ability to lift up to 50 pounds, and flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays. Candidates must be 18+, pass a Basic Office Skills Test, and obtain Food Safety certification within 90 days.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Be able to work nights.
• Be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time.
• Have knowledge of cooking principles.
• Have at least one year of cooking experience in an environment with varied entrees/methods.
• Certification or equivalent in Food Safety within 90 days of start date.
• Be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
• Be able to read, write, and solve math problems.
• Complete Basic Office Skills Test before start date.
• Able to interpret and follow instructions.
• Able to stand for long periods.
• Able to bend, stoop, and twist.
• Team player with enthusiasm and pride in work.

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
