Job summary

Publix Super Markets in Florida seeks a Manufacturing Quality Assurance & Food Safety inspector to perform quality control inspections, verify ingredient and product information, and ensure compliance with FDA regulations. You will support the plant’s safety and quality programs, monitor temperatures, and maintain accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform quality control inspections of ingredients and products.
• Verify that products comply with FDA regulations including traceability and HACCP records.
• Monitor temperatures and record data; collect and process samples for testing.
• Assist other associates in Quality Control and other plant departments.
• Maintain, document and retain testing samples and records.
• Process and record customer complaints and ensure proper resolution.
• Audit and update the plant reference book; conduct data entry and documentation.
• Ensure all products are manufactured following correct procedures from raw materials to shipping.

Description

• Performing quality control inspection tasks to include verification of all ingredient and product information
• Performing operational and pre-operational inspections
• Ensuring that each product is manufactured according to FDA regulations including, but not limited to traceability records, temperature monitoring and HACCP records
• Following all safety requirements
• Verifying accuracy of thermometers and product temperatures
• Collecting, processing, packaging, maintaining, and retaining samples for testing
• Providing help to all associates in the Quality Control department and other departments throughout the plant
• Tasting and evaluating all product samples received
• Being cross-trained in Quality Control responsibilities
• Being familiar with all plant functions
• Performing responsibilities accurately from start to finish with completed documentation

Year End Bonus

To reward associates for their contributions to the company for the calendar year, Publix provides a Holiday Bonus in November. In the first year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to 15 hours of pay, and in the second year of continuous employment the bonus is equal to one week’s pay if associate remains employed through issue date of the bonus check. In subsequent years, the bonus is equal to two weeks’ pay.
