Qualifications

• Experience in kitchen or cooking to acquire required knowledge and ability.
• Reads and interprets safety rules and manuals; writes routine reports and correspondence.
• Must possess basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Assists students during meal service, ensuring health/safety rules in the cafeteria.
• Prepares, cooks, and serves food items with correct portions and line replenishment.
• Monitors food temperatures and records them per procedures.
• Sets up serving lines with paper goods and utensils; presents attractive displays.
• Provides courteous customer service and encourages healthy choices.
• Records meal components, handles cash/checks, and cash control at day end.
• Receives and stocks food; maintains storage rooms and refrigeration.
• Maintains program accountability and compliance with policies.
• Circulates to assist students and promote balanced meals.
• Assists SNS staff with special diet requests and menu substitutions.
• Assists with tastings and samples with SNS manager.
• Prepares and cleans allergy-free tables.
• Ensures cleanliness of serving area and kitchen and proper equipment shutoff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
