Job summary

Xavier College Preparatory in Goodyear, AZ, seeks a cafeteria worker to prepare and serve breakfast and lunch with a focus on courteous, student-centered service. You will organize and set up equipment, follow health and safety regulations, and assist in caring for students in the cafeteria.

Responsibilities include maintaining hygiene, monitoring temperatures, and ensuring food safety, while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of materials and methods used in preparing and serving meats, bread, vegetables, and other foods on a large scale.
• General knowledge of the use or care of food preparation equipment.
• Skill in the use of standardized and specialized kitchen utensils and equipment.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates, students, and school staff.
• Able to maintain emotional control; ability to work with others in a close fast-paced environment; ability to address customers in a pleasant, courteous manner; basic ability to read and speak/understand English.

Job Objective:

Prepare and serve breakfast, lunch, and other food to children and adults in a courteous customer service-oriented manner. Organize and set up equipment and workstations. Perform duties following health, food service, government, and other regulations. Demonstrate proper equipment operation skills. Assist in caring for students in the cafeteria.

Essential Functions

• According to written, oral instructions, food preparation follows wellness policy, Avondale School District, and Health Department guidelines.
• Loads carts, food warmers, trays, etc., to ensure that food and/or beverages items are available for transport to other areas of the facility (preschool & Kindergarten classes).
