Job summary

Thunder Valley Casino is seeking a Café Room Runner to assist in delivering timely, friendly dining experiences. This role expedites food lines, garnishes dishes, and delivers orders to Guests following seating arrangements and service standards.

The position requires clear communication with Guests, team members, and management, with focus on sanitation and safety. A high school diploma and 18+ age are prerequisites, and a Tribal Gaming License may be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Prior restaurant experience is preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members, and management in both written and verbal form.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Ability to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.

Responsibilities

• Assist in expediting the food line and delivering orders to Guests’ tables.
• Garnish dishes and perform finishing touches before serving.
• Restock all items during and at the end of the shift.
• Maintain sanitation buckets and station cleanliness.
• Inspect presentation and cleanliness of completed dishes.
• Support Food Servers by retrieving tableware and refills as needed.
• Communicate with kitchen staff on production issues.
• Notify management of operational issues as they arise.
• Follow side work and other duties as assigned by management.
• Adhere to health and safety procedures at all times.
• Stand, walk, and assist with required lifting and movement as part of the shift.

Position Summary:The Café Room Runner will assist in providing a superior dining experience to Guests of Thunder Valley Casino Resort by ensuring timely and friendly service. The Room Runner is responsible for expediting the food line, garnishing dishes, and delivering orders to Guests using established seating arrangement procedures. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.Essential Functions:1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.2. Maintain the food line area with condiments, soups, soup spoons, rice, sauces, and other garnishes.3. Responsible for restocking all items during and at the end of the shift.4. Maintain proper sanitation buckets in station.5. Inspect cleanliness and presentation of completed dishes.6. Perform the finishing touches to completed dishes, such as adding garnishes and removing smudges.7. Deliver food orders from the food line to Guests’ tables rapidly and accurately, following proper serving sequence and service rules.8. Support Food Servers with Guest requests by retrieving tableware, utensils, and drink refills as needed. Remove dirty dishes and utensils as needed.9. Communicate with kitchen staff on production issues.10. Communicating with management on operational issues.11. Follow established side work and other duties assigned by management.12. Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.Work Conditions:Work is typically conducted in a restaurant environment which may be hot, cold, and noisy. Work may also be conducted in or near the casino in the presence of secondhand smoke. Team Members will be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull and grasp. These tasks include the maintenance and care of an assigned area. Frequent contact with fellow Team Members and with Guests is standard.
