Job Summary

This role is for leaders specializing in teaching and training associates on third wave coffee, food, and hospitality. The position is regionally based, supporting in-person and virtual training across cafes to ensure standards are maintained. The role involves 25% remote work and 75% travel, focusing on training staff on core menus and seasonal offerings.

Ideal candidates reside in Dallas, TX or Houston, TX.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deploy the three pillars of the Capital One Cafe program, including Verve Coffee Brand Standards training and Compass Hospitality & Culinary curriculum.
• Report to the VP of Operations for Capital One Cafes and collaborate with the Regional Chef and Verve's Head of Training & Development.
• Act as a brand ambassador for Verve Coffee Roasters, ensuring all cafe employees meet Verve Brand Standards.
• Deliver in-person coffee training on technical skills, including milk, espresso, extractions, and coffee education.
• Drive regional training strategies, ensuring consistent execution of Verve Coffee Training and hospitality programs.
• Support the Train the Trainer program at Elevated Experience Training Hubs, ensuring subject matter experts are well-trained and standards are maintained.
• Manage virtual training content in LMS, webinars, and digital assets.
• Conduct quarterly site inspections and audits, providing coaching and corrective actions.
• Ensure cafe and coffee equipment operate to Verve standards, identifying technical needs.
• Promote safety, teamwork, communication, and cleanliness during training sessions.
• Assist operational teams with deploying seasonal promotions and events, including tastings and community activities.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years in a specialty cafe environment.
• Preferred: 2 years of specialty coffee training experience.
• Knowledge of seed-to-cup coffee process and industry standards.
• Experience with equipment calibration and maintenance preferred.
• Serve-Safe Certification.
• Ability to adapt training to different learning styles and levels.
• Experience developing curricula, SOPs, videos, and job aids.
• Willingness to travel 50% of the time in the assigned territory.
• Outgoing personality with strong communication skills.
• Analytical, strategic, organized, and self-sufficient.
• Approachable, positive, and problem-solving oriented.
