Job summary

The Children's Museum of Phoenix seeks a Café Manager to oversee the museum café, Delish / Delicioso, including vendor coordination, ordering, cost control, and revenue growth. You will lead the café team, ensure a clean dining area, and deliver excellent customer service to museum families.

You will mentor staff, maintain a fresh menu, ensure health inspections compliance, manage POS transactions, and contribute to annual budgeting and promotional plans for the café.

Qualifications

  • High School graduate or GED.
  • Minimum 3 years of food service experience preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year supervisory experience required.
  • Must have or obtain state Manager Food Handlers Card.
  • TOAST software experience is preferred.
  • Fluency in Spanish and/or other languages desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and acknowledge all visitors to the Museum.
  • Mentor Lead Café Associate and Café Associates.
  • Keep Café menu fresh and exciting.
  • Recruit Café staff.
  • Develop and maintain training materials and performance expectations for Café Team.
  • Prepare for compliance with health inspections by authorities.
  • Process invoices/payments in a timely manner.
  • Manage point of sale software and pricing.
  • Develop promotional plans for the business year.

Department: Visitor DevelopmentFLSA Status: Full -Time / ExemptReports to: Director of Visitor DevelopmentCompensation: $50,000 AnnuallyDirect Reports: Lead Café Associate and Café AssociatesSummary: The Café Manager handles all operations of the café inside the Children’s Museum of Phoenix, Delish / Delicioso. This position is the main point of contact for all current and future food vendors. The Café Manager will organize all orders for the café, manage the cost of goods and discover ways to increase revenue. They will lead the café team to prepare Delish-ious food and beverages, keep a crisp dining area, and deliver delectable customer service to our museum families!Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Welcome and acknowledge all visitors to the MuseumMentor Lead Café Associate and Café AssociatesKeep Café menu fresh and excitingRecruit Café staffDevelop and maintain training materials and performance expectations for Café Team on an ongoing basisPrepare for compliance with health inspections from the Maricopa County Environmental Health Department and other regulatory agenciesOrder all necessary food and supplies for caféProcess all invoices / payments in timely mannerManages point of sale softwareDevelop promotional plan for business year with menu additions and combinationsMonitor foods using FIFOAssist Department Director with annual budgetAble to perform duties of Manager On Duty, including crisis managementProcess credit card, cash, and other monetary transactions in a fast-paced environmentMeet Department Revenue GoalsMaintain a clean, organized, and efficient Prep Kitchen at all timesManage maintenance on all café equipmentCommunicate positively and professionally to co-workers in all levels of the organizationClose / Balance daily cash drawerStay up to date on museum policies, exhibits, and eventsWork with a high level of energy, strong work ethic, and sense of excitementOther duties as assignedQualification/Requirements: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty.
