Job summary

Urban Air Adventure Parks in University Heights seeks a Café Lead to oversee shift operations, guide the Café Team, and ensure fast, friendly service in a hands-on role within the kitchen and service area.

Applicants should have a High School diploma or equivalent, 6–12 months of food & beverage experience, 1 year of leadership preferred, and a ServSafe certification or willingness to obtain it within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Minimum of High School Diploma or equivalent required, some College preferred.
• Minimum of six (6) months to one (1) year of prior food and beverage experience (Quick Service and/or restaurant experience).
• One (1) year of leadership experience preferred.
• Must have a current ServSafe or similar food handling certification, or be willing to get one within the first 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the Café shift responsibilities and guide Team Members to perform at expected standards.
• Ensure deliveries are logged and processes followed when the Café Manager is not present.
• Maintain storage and rotate stock to minimize wastage.
• Manage the Café Team to meet Urban Air standards.
• Adhere to shifts and be willing to stay late when needed.
• Train Café Team to prepare full menu and front-of-house staff to prepare drinks and foods to high standards.
• Uphold punctuality, attendance, attitude, cleanliness and hygiene standards.

CAFÉ LEAD

The Café Lead is primarily responsible for overseeing the SHIFT responsibilities of the Urban Air Café and guiding the performance of Team Members. This is a practical, hands-on role, with much of the working hours spent in the kitchen and service area, cooking, preparing, and serving food. S/he must work fast with a sense of urgency while maintaining a friendly demeanor with guests and supporting the Team.

Responsibilities

• Support the proper execution of all processes, systems, and standards
• Ensure all deliveries are received correctly and logged in the event the Café Manager is not present at the time of delivery
• Maintain storage, and rotation to minimize wastage
• Manage the Café Team, ensuring they always work to the expected standards
• Adhere to scheduled shifts and have the willingness to stay beyond when business or circumstances dictate
• Train Café Team in preparing the full menu and the front of house staff in preparing drinks and ready-to-eat foods to the consistently high standard required
• Set a high standard and good example for the Café Team regarding punctuality, attendance, and attitude; ensure these standards are maintained at all times
• Set a high standard and good example for the Café Team regarding cleanliness and hygiene, including a regular deep clean schedule
• Maintain well-organized and easy-to-access Café and storage areas
• Handle guest concerns regarding the Café in absence of the Café Manager
• Participate in regular staff meetings and training as and when required
