Join us as a Cafe Head Chef at Tatte Bakery & Cafe in Manhattan!

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Cafe Head Chef to help us open our Manhattan location. As a Chef at Tatte, you will oversee all kitchen operations, lead a team of up to 25 staff including cooks, prep cooks, and dishwashers, and ensure the success and growth of your team. A strong leadership ability, passion for scratch-made food, and genuine hospitality are essential. The Executive Chef is responsible for executing kitchen operations in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage production and service according to established guidelines
  • Follow standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards; utilize production worksheets and waste logs; taste meals for quality assurance
  • Train staff on food prep, safety, equipment operation, and sanitation standards
  • Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment and work areas
  • Manage inventory within guidelines, ensuring product availability
  • Adhere to safety and sanitation policies, report incidents as required
  • Participate in departmental meetings and staff development programs
  • Implement seasonal menu changes
Working Conditions
  • Flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
  • Ability to work extended shifts, stand, sit, squat, or walk for long periods
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Position Requirements
  • 3-5 years of culinary/kitchen management experience
  • Passion for culinary excellence and guest satisfaction
  • Proficiency with kitchen systems and processes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Skills
