The Café Head Chef is the visionary behind our café's dynamic culinary landscape, responsible for delivering inspired cafe experiences that reflect creativity, inclusivity, and excellence. The Café Head Chef leads the kitchen team with a focus on mentorship, collaboration, and growth, cultivating a positive and innovative work culture. Key responsibilities include designing seasonal and eclectic menus, managing kitchen operations and inventory, maintaining food safety compliance, and fostering an exceptional guest experience. The ideal candidate brings a blend of culinary artistry, strong leadership, and a commitment to continuous improvement, all while keeping customer satisfaction at the heart of every decision.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / /

  • Curate menus that reflect a fusion of culinary inspirations, incorporating seasonal delights and aligning with our café's vibe.
  • Collaborate with management to refine offerings based on customer feedback and evolving tastes, all while balancing creativity with cost-effectiveness.
  • Foster a kitchen culture rooted in collaboration, feedback and continuous growth, mentoring and training kitchen staff to excel in their craft.
  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to enhance team skills and job satisfaction, cultivating an environment of innovation and camaraderie.
  • Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including inventory ordering and management, task completion, and ensuring dishes meet our standards of excellence while embracing diversity and flair.
  • Maintain efficiency and profitability through careful monitoring of metrics, adapting operations as needed to optimize performance.
  • Uphold rigorous standards of hygiene and safety, staying abreast of industry best practices and regulatory changes to ensure compliance and task completion that meets our standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any potential hazards, prioritizing the well-being of our guests and team.

REQUIREMENTS / /

  • Demonstrated leadership in a culinary role, with a flair for creating memorable dining experiences.
  • Strong culinary skills and a penchant for innovation, coupled with a talent for inspiring and motivating teams.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety practices and kitchen operations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, adaptable to a dynamic hospitality environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent culinary certification preferred.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills and Microsoft Suite
  • ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification or equivalent food safety training required.
  • Additional certifications or coursework in menu development, culinary arts, or hospitality management a bonus.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally to enhance the customer experience, recognizing that customer satisfaction is a company-wide effort.
  • Proven ability to prioritize customer needs while decision-making and problem-solving to ensure a positive experience.
  • Ensure a prominent level of customer care by maintaining a friendly, compassionate, and professional attitude.
  • Consistently seek ways to improve the customer experience by anticipating and addressing the needs of guests.
  • Passion for developing and implementing operational checklists to ensure consistency, efficiency, and organization.
