Job summary

The Café Associate at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture works in the Commonwealth Café within the Operations & Finance division. You will take, prepare, and serve food and beverages while delivering best-in-class customer service in a fast-paced museum setting.

Responsibilities include greeting guests, processing orders to specification, ensuring cleanliness, reconciling cash daily, and adhering to food safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Food service and/or previous cash handling experience.
• Customer service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and provide a positive experience.
• Accept and serve food and beverage orders to recipe and customer specifications.
• Maintain clean, safe front-line and back-of-house spaces.
• Reconcile daily cash drawer accurately.
• Maintain food safety and cleanliness per state/local laws and Virginia ABC regulations.
• Track sell-by dates and rotate stock as needed.
• Operate café equipment, POS, and daily procedures.
• Stay informed about museum events and exhibits.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
