Job summary

Equator Coffees is seeking a Dishwasher for the Miller Ave retail cafe. This non-exempt role supports kitchen operations, keeps dishware and surfaces clean, and helps maintain a safe, efficient cafe environment. Reports to the Café General Manager and works during service hours to ensure smooth operation.

The ideal candidate shows reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to train. No prior experience required, but a state Food Handler Card is preferred.

Qualifications

• No experience required (we’re willing to train)
• Has a sense of urgency with helping customers
• Ability to work well with others and be hospitable with guests
• Good time management skills
• Has the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage competing multiple priorities
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Must maintain current state-issued Food Handler Card
• Must be 16 years of age or older

Responsibilities

• Wash Dishes by hand or machine
• Sweep and mop dining room, patio and kitchen
• Take out the trash, empty and clean receptacles
• Clean dish storage
• Clean spills or broken glassware immediately
• Check juices, milk, water and ice machine
• Help unload trucks and stock supplies
• Aids prep cook and other kitchen staff as needed, especially during peak times
• Always follows sanitation policies
